The Athlone Trust CIO (“the CIO”) was founded in 2020 to take over the assets and liabilities of The Athlone Trust CIO (“the Trust “), a charitable trust formed in 1978 to help adopted children whose parents are having financial difficulties.
The purpose of our grants is to support adopted children with their education.
We offer two types of grants:

This grant has received an overwhelming amount of applications, which must be reviewed before we can consider any further applications. Consequently, we must bring forward the deadline to the date indicated below. We recognise that such response to this grant is a clear indication of the challenges adoptive families are facing in the UK and we will continue to do our very best to find a way to bring the necessary support to every one of them.
Offering adopted children funding for educational resources and enriching activities to support their growth and secure their potential.

- Only applications that fully meet the requirements will be considered.
- Selected applicants must provide the necessary proof of meeting requirements upon request from TAT.
- Early or late applications, i.e. those received outside of the specific hours the form is open, will not be considered.
